POWER4 BACK UP NEWARK AND SHERWOOD COUNCIL
Power4, a specialist in the hire, sale and maintenance of generators, temporary power and lighting solutions, has been awarded the contract to power Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Business Continuity Plan, to ensure residents in the area have the council’s support in an emergency.
The contract will see Power4 providing four back-up power generators to Newark and Sherwood District Council’s administration centre at Kelham Hall. This will enable the Council to activate its three level operation plan (Emergency, Medium and Full) in the event of an emergency.
Mark Henry, Emergency & CCTV Planning Coordinator at Newark and Sherwood District Council comments: “The Council takes its emergency-planning responsibilities very seriously, and through the years, we have invested significant amounts to ensure continuity and stability when we need it most. A back-up power solution is integral for the Council’s Business Continuity Plan to be a success, and Power4 provided a convenient, cost-effective solution.”
In delivering the contract, Power4 assisted in an initial audit of the council’s power requirement. Power4 will now supply generators under its four-hour business continuity response service, where a generator will be up and running within the four hours following a call to its 24 hr customer service centre. Power4 will also provide generators, under its 4hr response agreement, to power the Council’s three leisure centres, which will transform into emergency reception areas in the case of an incident.
Mark Henry continues: “We selected Power4 as a partner to provide a generator at each of the leisure centres as a result of its experience in business continuity. We were impressed by the high level in which they maintained and serviced its equipment, flexible approach and professional attitude.”
David Sanderson, Head of Power4’s Business Continuity Unit, comments: “Many organisations are realising that a back-up power source is key to any successful Business Continuity Plan. Unfortunately, many of these businesses and local authorities don’t have the money or space to warrant permanent on-site generators. Power4 make it easy for businesses to have the best of both worlds, or in other words, a reliable supply of power available upon demand.” |
